The Draeger X-am® 8000 was especially designed for clearance measurements and personnel monitoring applications. The 1 to 7 gas detector reliably detects flammable gases such as %LEL (catalytic bead) or IR %LEL / %VOL sensors and vapors as well as O2, CO, H2S, NO, PH3, NO2, HCN, NH3, CO2, Cl2, Clo2, H2, OV, Amine, Oderant, COCl2, Ozone, VOC's (ppm/ppb ranges), and SO2. The innovative signaling design and extensive range of accessories ensure optimum safety and easy handling. Specifically designed to use with a pump, the pump adapter can be removed and the X-am 8000 can be used as a diffusion instrument. Similar in design as the four-gas sensor X-am 3500 series, but as a seven-gas sensor option.
The X-am® 8000 by Draeger was specifically designed for use with an internal pump optimized for clearance measurements. The pump is very powerful and can handle a draw up to 147 feet. The included pump adapter makes it very easy and efficient at switching from a pumped mode to a diffusion mode by simply unscrewing and removing the pump adapter module. This saves enerygy, ensures the pump is only used when needed, reduces wear and tear on the pump and extends the pump life. On startup, the X-am® 8000 has a built in protocol the operator to stall the pump. This is another excellent built in safety feature to ensure the instrument is operating correctly before use.
Benefits
The X-am 8000 is a specialist for high and low hydrocarbon concentrations. You can fit the X-am 8000 one of two high-performance PID Sensors. Either a PID HC for 0-2000ppm or a PID LC for 0-10ppm and range below 1ppm.
You can also purchase seperately a pre-tube assy for Benzene specific measurements. The meter has a built in function for using the Draeger Benzene tubes for Benzene measurement.
Inductive Charging protects against wear and tear. You can also connect the charging cradles to one another to maximize your table/desk space.
X-DOCK capable. The X-am 8000 series is ready to use the Draeger X-Dock series auto-calibration and bump test station. The X-Dock can be easily put on a network and with the help of the X-Dock Management software sold seperately.
RFID Management. With the optional built in RFID badge, you can easily identify your Draeger X-am 8000 devices in the field for an excellent administration control.
%LEL / %Vol Methane Detection. When measuring for high Methane concentrations you can configure automatic measurement range switching option. If a reading goes higher than say 100% LEL, the display swithes to the range of 0-100% Vol.
Clearance Measurement. The Draeger X-am 8000 has a built in confined space assistant where when activated it calculates the time it takes for the measurement to flow from the end of the probe (FKM Hose) to the unit. Based on parameters such measuring gases, temperature limits, and indicated hose length.
The Draeger X-am 8000 unit also has a clear color code system.
- Red light = gas alarm
- Yellow light = device-related alarm (low battery)
- Green light = device is ready for use
The green glow D-Light allows you to see from a distance whether the unit has been properly tested and ready for use.
